Chunghwa Telecom, China Telecom to Team up for Wi-Fi Roaming Services in China

Taiwanese telecom operator Chunghwa Telecom announced its partnership with China Telecom to provide Wi-Fi (Wireless Fidelity) roaming services in China, according to an August 2, 2011 report by the Economic Daily News of Taiwan. It is reported that Chunghwa Telecom's subscribers traveling in China will be able to enjoy wireless network services by using China Telecom's Wi-Fi hot spots, charging at NT$2 (US$0.069, US$1=NT$28.9) per minute. Currently, China Telecom has set up 120,000 hot spots, and the company plans to deploy one million hot spots in the next three years.
